Virginia Beach, Va. — Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will open the region’s second urgent care center exclusively for infants, children and teens on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at Loehmann’s Plaza, 3960 Virginia Beach Boulevard in Virginia Beach. The facility is also home to several other signature services, including sports medicine; physical, occupational and speech therapy; X-ray services and lab services.
“Since opening Hampton Roads’ first pediatric urgent care in January of 2015, we have seen an increasing demand for age-appropriate, fast care for children,” says CHKD President and CEO, Jim Dahling. “Our new location in Virginia Beach expands our ability to provide care for the community’s children when and where they need it.”
CHKD Urgent Care offers care for common illnesses and injuries of childhood including colds, flu, sinus and ear infections, asthma, vomiting, diarrhea, sports and orthopedic injuries and suturing for cuts that need stitches.
CHKD sports medicine services at the new location include primary care sports medicine, sports physical therapy, injury prevention programs and sports performance training for children and teens.
Hours of operation at the building will vary by service. Sports medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy will operate on an appointment-only basis.
CHKD Urgent Care, X-ray and lab services will be open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Friday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekends/holidays.
