Newport News, Va. — Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters will open the region’s third urgent care center exclusively for infants, children and teens on October 5, 2016, at the new CHKD Health Center at Tech Center, located at 680 Oyster Point Road in Newport News. The new CHKD Urgent Care Center will be open from 4 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.

CHKD Urgent Care provides care for common illnesses and injuries of childhood including colds, flu, sinus and ear infections, asthma, vomiting, diarrhea, sports and orthopedic injuries and suturing for cuts that need stitches. Families can skip the wait for urgent care services by using a convenient “Save My Spot” link to understand wait times and hold a place in line for their child. In addition to urgent care, the Health Center at Tech Center offers sports medicine primary care and physical therapy as well as X-ray and lab services by appointment from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Walk-in X-ray and lab services are available during urgent care hours, from 4 to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday.
