For the past six years, Gastroenterology and Hepatology at CHKD has participated in ImproveCareNow, a network dedicated and working together to improve quality and promote patient-powered research.

The focus of adopting ImproveCareNow philosophies, according to CHKD gastroenterologist Dr. Marc Tsou, was to “learn how to measure quality, eliminate unwanted variation in care and monitor our progress” with patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

The participation has paid dividends and ImproveCareNow was recently awarded the 2016 Drucker Prize, awarded to a non-profit organization that meets the definition of innovation. ImproveCareNow was selected from a group of nearly 500 applicants.
