CHKD has opened the
region’s third urgent care center exclusively for infants, children and teens.
The new CHKD Health Center and Urgent Care at
Tech Center
is located at 680 Oyster Point Road in Newport News and is open from 4 to 11
p.m. Monday through Friday.
CHKD Urgent Care provides care for common illnesses and injuries of childhood
including colds, flu, sinus and ear infections, asthma, vomiting, diarrhea,
sports and orthopedic injuries and suturing for cuts that need stitches.
Families can skip the wait for urgent care services by using a convenient “Save
My Spot” link to understand wait times and hold a place in line for their
child. Visit CHKD.org/UrgentCare for more information.
In addition to urgent
care, the CHKD Health Center and Urgent Care at Tech
Center offers sports medicine primary care and
physical therapy as well as X-ray and lab services by appointment from 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Walk-in X-ray and lab services are available
during urgent care hours, from 4 to 11 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend hours will begin in January, 2017.
