Bio
Slade started her nursing career as a registered nurse in
1989, with her first position in the
Acute Care Center, now referred to as Emergency Medicine.
She was drawn to caring for children
with sickle cell disease and several years
later joined the sickle cell team. She enjoys caring for and educating patients and families about sickle cell
disease.
In 2000, Slade left CHKD to
complete her PNP program, returning three years later and working as an RN in the
Emergency Department. Soon thereafter she joined the vascular access team.
