Bio
After serving five years as a U.S. Army nurse, Bonifas moved to the area
because of CHKD and the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at nearby Old Dominion University and has been a part of CHKD since 1994.
She started at CHKD as a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse. Once she became a Nurse Practitioner she moved to surgery and
worked there for 14 years. In 2013, Bonifas joined Chesapeake Pediatrics, expanding her horizons to include primary care.
Bonifas served on CHKD's reward and recognition committee from 2001 to 2010 and on CHKD's pain management committee from 2010 to 2013.
