Advanced Care and Co-Management Agreements at Coastal Pediatrics

At Coastal Pediatrics,we utilize an Advanced Care Team model. Members of our advanced care team include our RN clinical supervisor, Carla Caddy, who oversees our nursing team as well as our nurse triage line. Our LPN primary care coordinator, Joanne Eaves, ensures that our patients obtain their specialty care and chronic care needs.

We also have co-management agreements in place, helping to provide optimal health care for our patients. Such agreements provide a framework for better communication and safe transitions of care as we facilitate referrals in a timely and collaborative manner as well as provide all necessary information regarding recommended plan of treatment and methods to evaluate effectiveness of treatment.

We provide a friendly, dedicated team of board-certified physicians whose primary goal is your child’s health and development. We want to be your child’s medical home. A medical home is not a place, it’s the way our healthcare team provides the highest quality services to best meet the needs of your child and your family.

Our team will serve as a home base for all your child’s healthcare by keeping a comprehensive medical history, coordinating all care and working in partnership with you to ensure that both the medical and non-medical needs of your child and family are met.  

Routine checkups are one of the most important ways to keep kids healthy. By maintaining a regular checkup schedule, we can help prevent illness, detect hidden problems and monitor your child’s development and growth. It’s important for us to see your child often during the first three years – then annually throughout childhood and the teen years.

Dental health Is Important, too. Our providers offer oral fluoride varnish starting at six months of age – or at the time of primary tooth eruption.

As an extension of our philosophy to provide quality care, we participate in the Reach Out and Read program, as well as community events that focus on children’s health and well-being.

Coastal Pediatrics is conveniently located on City Center Boulevard just 45 minutes away from CHKD – our referral center for patients who need pediatric specialty care. Our physicians maintain privileges at Albemarle Hospital and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to assist in caring for your child.

We invite those seeking a pediatrician for their child to come in for a free consultation to meet our physicians and tour our facility. We look forward to helping your child grow into a healthy, young adult. 

We Support Breastfeeding Moms

Our care team includes an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) available to assist with your breastfeeding needs. Lactation visits take place in our office and are covered by your baby’s insurance. These visits include a health history, baby exam and guidance on topics that will enable you to meet your breastfeeding goals – including proper positioning and latch on tips, maternal nutrition, and management of a variety of breastfeeding challenges.

We also offer free breastfeeding classes to expectant and new moms in Elizabeth City and the surrounding areas. Call our office for upcoming class dates and registration information, or register online.  

Walk-in Visits

Walk-in visits are available from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on weekdays for sick established patients.  Sick visits are available for the afternoon by appointment only.

We Believe in Kids in Parks

The Kids in Parks program has established a network of trails designed to provide kids and families with fun outdoor activities. Through their TRACK Rx program, our providers are promoting this program and formally prescribing our patients to get active outdoors and reconnected to nature through this exciting program. Coastal Pediatrics utilizes Press Ganey to understand and improve the entire patient experience. After you see one of our providers, you may receive a paper survey in the mail or an electronic survey via email.  Please take the time to let us know how we can continuously improve as your medical home.
