Immunizations
Immunizations are one of the greatest advances in public health. They not only protect your child from developing potentially serious diseases, they also protect your family, friends, and community.
Unfortunately, we are seeing a growing number of outbreaks of conditions such as measles, whooping cough and other childhood illnesses, because children are not being vaccinated properly. The United States currently has the safest, most effective vaccine supply in its history.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), giving your baby the recommended immunizations by age two is the best way to protect them from 14 serious diseases. We encourage parents to follow the guidelines established by the CDC.
My child is sick right now. Is it still OK for her to get immunization shots?
One of our healthcare professionals will determine if your child will be able to receive immunizations at the time of your visit. If they have a fever, it is usually recommended to wait until the fever is gone. Children can usually get vaccinated if they don't have a fever even if they have a mild illness like a cold, earache, or diarrhea.
