"I love working at CHKD because it feels like family, and there is a huge sense of community support and love. Our team is diverse and always working together to make the families and patient feel like they matter most."

Bio
After being a
nurse for 18 years in pediatrics/adult emergency room and trauma, Nikolaus decided to further her education and graduated with a family nurse practitioner degree.
After graduation, she worked as a hospitalist and realized how much she missed the pediatric population. When presented the opportunity to join CHKD, she couldn’t pass it up.
In 2013, she became a forensic nurse for CHKD’s child abuse program. Today, she is a pediatric surgical nurse practitioner, a role in which she can use all of her skills with CHKD's pediatric population and Level 1 trauma center.
Nikolaus lives in Waverly with her husband – a paramedic for CHKD's transport team –
and son.
