Comprehensive Special Needs Services

At CHKD, we understand the challenges faced by families with children who have special needs. We are able to provide a comprehensive continuum of care for this unique population including primary care, urgent care, specialty care, surgical care, adaptive equipment, therapy, and bracing.

From spasticity management, mobility needs, behavioral health, and communication and feeding disorders, CHKD's health care professionals and ancillary services, including radiology and laboratory services, work in a collaborative fashion to develop a multidisciplinary treatment plan focused on your child’s individual needs.  

Along with inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapies, CHKD offers an Adaptive Seating Program, Augmentative Communication and Assistive Technology services, specialty car seat program, and aquatic therapies all staffed by specialty trained pediatric therapists who work closely with physicians and providers to identify and recommend appropriate equipment based on your child's individual needs.
