Hayes has been
providing clinical services at CHKD since 2013. As part of the mental health
team, she provides outpatient therapy services at CHKD’s Tech Center location.
She completed
her master’s level clinical practicum at CHKD in a variety of clinical
settings. Upon graduation, she came on staff as a medical social worker (MSW)
primarily in two specialty clinics (nephrology and gastroenterology). In this
role, she served as a facilitator for various support groups at CHKD with
a focus on sibling support and adjustment to chronic illness.
In working with
patients and families at CHKD, Hayes often utilizes cognitive-behavioral
therapy (CBT) with an emphasis in strengths and family systems' perspective. In
addition to CBT, she has experience in treating patients with trauma-informed
cognitive behavioral (TF-CBT) therapy and parent-child interaction therapy
(PCIT).
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and two golden retrievers.
