How can I refer my patient to CHKD's hematology and oncology practice?

One of our physicians reviews each referral daily to determine the appropriate doctor/clinic in which the patient needs to be scheduled. Our office then contacts the patient directly to schedule an appointment that is both timely and convenient for them. After an appointment is made, the referring provider will be notified.

When will my patient be able to obtain an appointment?

Your patient's estimated wait time for an appointment is approximately one (1) week, but could vary depending on location.

What work-up is needed prior to the first appointment?

The pre-referral work-up includes any abnormal blood test results that are not available in CHKD's Elelctronic Health Record (EHR).

Where will my patient be seen?

Our hematology/oncology offices are located at CHKD (Norfolk) and Oyster Point* (Newport News). *Limited appointment availability.
