Bio
After graduating from Michigan State, Grimes worked
as a staff nurse on a general pediatric inpatient unit, and then transitioned to
a pediatric burn/surgery unit.
She then worked as a public health nurse
providing home visits to high-risk, first-time mothers and their babies. After that, she transitioned to a pediatric radiology/sedation unit.
Grimes arrived at CHKD in 2007 and
worked as a clinic and triage nurse in the allergy, pulmonology and rheumatology
clinics before returning to school to pursue her masters degree.
She became a family
nurse practitioner in 2014 and loves working with children and their families in
order to provide them with a better understanding and ability to manage
asthma and food allergies.
Outside of work, she enjoys family time with her two
children, traveling, attending the theater, and she is an enthusiastic sports
fan.
