Bio
Elverum, a graduate of Hickory High in Chesapeake, found her calling in medicine after shadowing a physician assistant in CHKD’s cardiac surgery program.
After college, she worked at CHKD
as a nursing aid to acquire health care experience while applying to PA school.
During her time in Lynchburg College's PA program, she pulled rotations at CHKD whenever possible and completed a doctorate degree in medical sciences while completing a fellowship in general pediatrics.
Outside of work, Elverum enjoys staying active and
racing in triathlons, spending the weekends on the water, and being with
family.
