Bio
As a Coast Guard wife, Coleman has had opportunities to work in nursing and as a nurse practitioner in
various settings.
After working for four years in inpatient pediatrics at
University of Virginia Hospital, she moved to New Orleans and spent five
years as a pediatric oncology nurse clinician.
She also taught nursing in Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands, designing and implementing the first
pediatric nursing and physical assessment courses for the local community
college.
After two three-year tours in Valdez, Alaska, where she worked with four family-practice physicians, she and her family returned to Williamsburg in 2002.
Coleman is a certified infant massage instructor and enjoys working with military
families.
Twice a year, she travels to Limon, Honduras, to volunteer at the Carolina Honduras Health Foundation Clinic.
She is the mother of three.
