Community Health Needs Assessment Survey

Bon Secours Hampton Roads, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters, Riverside Health System, Sentara Healthcare, and the Hampton and Peninsula Health Districts of the Virginia Department of Health are working together to conduct a survey of the health needs in the various communities we serve to include the Peninsula, South Hampton Roads, Western Tidewater, Eastern Shore and Northeastern North Carolina. We would appreciate your participation in this assessment through the completion of a short survey. Take the survey here.

Community Health Needs Assessments

Every three years we conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) to better understand the healthcare needs of our community. The findings inform our decision-making, our programs and our services. They also help to ensure that we are using our resources to create the greatest community benefit and fostering effective community partnerships to benefit children's health.

Implementation Plans

Based on the findings from the CHNA, we develop an Implementation Plan to guide our work.

Your feedback is important in refining this plan as we move forward. Please email any thoughts and suggestions to CHNAcomments@chkd.org. Paper copies of the Community Health Needs Assessment and the 2016 Implementation Plan are available free upon request as well, also by emailing us at CHNAcomments@chkd.org.

Community Benefit Reports

At CHKD, working to improve the lives of our community's children is a twofold endeavor, deeply ingrained in our mission, our history and our daily work. On one hand, we are the regional referral center for pediatrics, trusted by parents and fellow providers alike to offer the most advanced pediatric technology, training and care. On the other, we are the safety net provider for the children of our region, assuming the financial responsibility of caring for all children, knowing that we will never be fully reimbursed for many of the services we provide.

In the publications below, we give you a closer look at some of the ways CHKD benefits our community and improves the quality of life in our region. The programs and activities included in these reports meet at least one of the following goals: improving access to care, enhancing public health, advancing knowledge or relieving government burden.
